Maritime Contracts

Every strong transaction rests on strong contracts. We draft and review the full range of maritime agreements, so the risk sits where you agreed it would.

What is maritime contracts?

Maritime contracts are the agreements that govern how a vessel is used, built, maintained and commercialised — charter parties, management agreements, crew agreements, build and refit contracts, brokerage and berthing agreements.

Most are negotiated from recognised industry forms, which are a sound starting point but rarely fit a specific deal without amendment. The work is in the amendments: delivery and redelivery, payment, liability, insurance and termination.
